GF-Hatchery
GF-Hatchery™ was founded in 2021 by Johan Ljungquist and Mikael Olenmark. It is part of Gårdsfisk®, the Swedish aquaculture company they established in 2013 with a focus on sustainable, land-based fish farming.
In September 2021, Gårdsfisk® entered into an agreement with Fleuren & Nooijen for the supply of African catfish breeders.
Today, Gårdsfisk® is proud to supply Swedish-produced African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) to customers worldwide.

At GF-Hatchery™, we produce high-quality African catfish fry and broodstock for professional aquaculture operations worldwide.
Our hatchery is fully integrated with Gårdsfisk’s commercial farming operations. This means our fish are not only bred for performance—they are continuously tested under real production conditions. The result is robust, fast-growing fish that perform reliably in intensive systems.

We combine proven Dutch genetics with controlled hatchery conditions and strict biosecurity protocols to ensure consistent quality in every batch. Our fish are selected for key traits such as growth rate, survival, uniformity, and reduced cannibalism.

We operate without the use of antibiotics, focusing instead on prevention through strong genetics, optimal water quality, and high biosecurity standards. This results in healthier fish and gives our customers a reliable, sustainable foundation for their production.

By producing fish close to our own farming operations, we maintain full control over quality from broodstock to delivery—giving our customers confidence in every stage of their production cycle.
